I have a few smart LED lights in our house all work fine apart from Govee, they drop off the network & refuse to rejoin, it’s hard to trace their ip,address but when I did & assigned it a fixed address for 2.5ghz the bloody thing still looses connection. I’ve given up now & we switch them manually as are simply too unreliable, their support is useless. Maybe I can hack them with WLED? I will never use Govee again!

Well, these are toys basically. I have one observation to make on the "Game Over" thingy: the model you chose does nothing more than say Game Over, but there are models that are much more useful: the glass surface is blank and you can write whatever you want on it, and delete it later. We use that a lot in the kitchen, as a reminder to each other for stuff that needs to be bought or done; example: "buy milk and coffee, xoxo"; and usually I will find a reply saying "buy it yourself you lazy ass or something on these lines... or a proper reply like "ok done, you don't forget setting the pot for yogurt". All in all, it's still just a toy, but one that can find it's way to a good use :) PS: the models I'm talking about are by Temu and cost pennies.

Hi Chris Need your help my friend I got TCL 98” TV…WxH-> 218x125 (cm)= 86x50(inches)….. To cover my TV i need 6.86 m of LED STRIP, for sk6812 which PS do you recommend? (I need 1 ps for the strip and 1 for my wled controller??

Looks great, but a lot of work only to be knocked off when say you move something bulky or heavy, or god forbid... children show up to haunt your existence.

Ive seen a few unbranded versions of these style, its pretty clever how the diffuser is used, there are various types depending what the use is for but look the same. I think the ones you have, have a L or a V shape inside and the LEDS are pointing down which hides the 'spot'. Nice video. UPDATE: You cut it and its the mushroom shape one :D

I noticed that all the lights are in sync. Are you running everything from a single controller or are you synching them all somehow? Either way, any change you can show us how to do it?

Hi Chris you must get this all the time & tell me to go do my own research & stop wasting your time if you like… But I’m finding the amount of choice… overwhelming… all I need is two setups… one round my coving 18 meters & one in aluminium tracks that you plaster in your ceiling which is 10 meters… Would you just do a basic LED… or RGB or RGBW or WLED… if you were a newby? & would you hide the wires in the ceiling or around the coving? I have subscribed to you but find you talk really fast because you know what your on about… but me not knowing anything about LED’s I lack the knowledge to keep up… I have a 8 wifi switch I bought of Amazon which I want to control them with… but I also want to ask Alexa to turn them on… do you have any advice for a newby please

I would wish for more clarity in the video; Make chapters and put a text on the screen so we know that 'NOW IM DOING THE WS2815' and 'NOW IM DOING THE OTHER ONE' etc, and be more clear with the wiring. also please say what product youre using instead of saying 'this product' because then I have to pause the video and squint my eyes looking for the model number. I've been looking at this for our house, was wondering on the christmas string lights though... I have some trees in the front yard that are about 25' apart, furthest is about 75' from the house. Can I just use direct burial wire from a 12V power supply and bucks in a junction box and (if I'm lucky) some quick connects that match up to the factory wire from the controller to the AC adapter? I was originally going to go WLED but leaning Govee for everything after starting to use some of their products in my home office/gaming room.

What’s the point in making a separate controller? Seems like a lot of extra work considering you can just plug and play with the app. Yes there’s certain niche cases like you said, but in most cases just get a longer set if you want a larger portion to be “seamless”. TLDR: unless you have a niche diy need, the regular software works fine. It doesn’t do certain very specific effects and it has a few limitations but not any that most won’t be fine with.

Amazing video that covers many of the questions I have about trying this myself as shelf lighting. I am curious if anyone knows if there might be power/signal loss on the M1 were it to be cut into 10 sections and spliced with 5-6’ of wire between each section making the total length somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60’. If so are there options for improving the performance along the entire length?

I really recommend you choose a different wire that is UL listed. Long LED strips can draw a lot of current and are at risk for fire if not using quality conductors. Especially if you are planning to hide these wires behind walls.

Chris please help. i just bought everything but i realised i dont know how to set this up to have the lights run with the projector cast. how do we connect this signalRGB to directly use on the projector? because i couldnt connect the PC to the projector. and the projector would have netflix or youtube direct.
